15th Annual Hats Off to San Diego, A Celebration of Music
The Gold Diggers annual luncheon was chaired by Linda Marteeny and held May 22, 2008 at The Prado in Balboa Park. Funds were raised for two very exciting groups for children; Classics for Kids and The Museum of Making Music.  With the support of our sponsors Virginia Napierskie, Priscilla and Keith Webb and the John and Sally Thornton Foundation, and our 300 guests, The Gold Diggers were able to raise funds for our grant program.
After a great lunch that also included Pam Sullivan's hand-made chocolate musical notes, President Diana Vuich presented The Gold Digger of the Year 2008 award to a very deserving Jackie Bailey, our treasurer, who is pictured in the photo on the right above.
Congratulations to our winners of the Hat Parade! 18-Karat (1st Place) winner was East County Arts.  49er (2nd Place) winner was Vista Hill. Prospector (3rd Place) winner was Star of India Auxiliary.  The winner of the Theme Hat was Friends of Braille Institute.  And the Wild Card winner was Salvation HTMLArmy Women's Auxiliary.
